Realty Times Goes Satellite With "Showcase of Homes" Show

Taking its enormous success with cable television to the next level, Realty Times" "Showcase of Homes" will now be broadcast via satellite on Dish Network and DirecTV every weekend. The new format will expand to a new one-hour show every week, featuring news, presentations of approximately 50 homes listed by Realtors, and plenty of promotion for local Market Conditions experts. "Satellite has the potential to broadcast Realty Times "Showcase of Homes" to over 25 million homes nationwide," says Jody Lane, founder and CEO of Realty Times. "Not only will the homes be fascinating to watch, but we will continuously drive viewers to our Market Conditions experts." While Lane is working on closing a continuous 24/7 deal with both the Dish Network and DirecTV, the schedule so far is for a new one-hour show each week, airing Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time on channel 223 (Dish Network), and on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time on channel 227 (DirecTV). The new shows will start on December 4th. "Not only will this hit the important local markets," says John Giaimo, vice president of business development for Realty Times, "we will organize the homes regionally and locally to hold the interest of those who want to see what homes are like in areas they are interested in. This is great for local homebuyers, and for the out-of-area vacation homebuyer, investor, and relocating executive, so we believe there will be a lot of interest in this show nationally." Satellite TV has rapidly edged into cable television"s dominance with over 25 percent of the market share in 2003, and with higher user satisfaction, according to TV analyst Mark Harris. Sales have burgeoned as satellite TV networks have introduced more low-cost additional receivers for multiple television channel viewing and competitive sports and movie packages, as well as TiVo included in some packages.

Hot Market: Decatur, IL Outperforms National Trends
In the face of falling employment rates and diving real estate prices, Decatur, Illinois, has outperformed national trends to create a strong housing market buoyed by a growing economy. The labor force in America"s Agribusiness Center has grown by more than 1,500 jobs since January 2008, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and that has fueled an increase in sales prices for single-family homes in the area by more than 6 percent for the same period last year.
