Market Conditions: Lake Arrowhead Mountain Area, California

Realtor Carol Banner has seen a drop in home sales in the Lake Arrowhead Mountain Area. But with four distinct seasons, lots of outdoor activities, Lake Arrowhead Golf Club and Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club, this Mountain Living community is very attractive to buyers. They just seem reluctant to step up to the plate, Banner says, and sales in the Lake Arrowhead area are down as much as 50 percent. And with prices down as much as 5 percent, the market conditions heavily favor buyers. Banner foresees an upturn in the area by summer, with a "pent up need" driving buyers to the beautiful Southern California region. Hot Market: Decatur, IL Outperforms National Trends
In the face of falling employment rates and diving real estate prices, Decatur, Illinois, has outperformed national trends to create a strong housing market buoyed by a growing economy. The labor force in America"s Agribusiness Center has grown by more than 1,500 jobs since January 2008, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and that has fueled an increase in sales prices for single-family homes in the area by more than 6 percent for the same period last year.
